About this space · Read more

Cabin 1 is the most affordable stay at Casa Pantoja, and we will say plainly why: it is on the ground floor, it has no view, and that is why it costs less. If what you want is a comfortable bed, a private bathroom with hot water and a quiet place to sleep after a day on the water, it does the job well.

It is a standalone cabin for two, with its own entrance and direct access to the shared areas. Being on the ground floor means no stairs, which helps if you are carrying large luggage or paddleboards, or if someone in your group would rather avoid steps.

It is mostly booked by couples and solo travellers spending a couple of nights in Xul-Há on the way to Bacalar, Mahahual or the Belize border. It also works as an add-on for a group: you can combine it with a standard room or an apartment in the same booking request and keep everyone on the same property.

There is little noise around and plenty of greenery. The lagoon is a minute away on foot, and that is the real argument for this cabin: paying little to sleep a block from one of the quietest stretches of the Bacalar lagoon. In Xul-Há you can walk to simple, good food, there are piers to get into the water and, unlike downtown Bacalar, mornings here are silent.

Booking it is simple: pick your dates and confirm. We quote the nights with taxes broken out, and you can hold it over WhatsApp if you would rather speak to someone before paying. Check-in is at 3:00 pm and check-out at 11:00 am, and all we ask for on arrival is official ID.

Casa Pantoja has no direct access to the lagoon. The lagoon is approximately a one-minute walk away; two bathing facilities charge admission. Admission is not included in your stay. Check their prices and opening hours before visiting.
