Where is Casa Pantoja and how far is it from Bacalar?
On Avenida Adolfo López Mateos, Xul-Há, Quintana Roo (77963), at the southern end of the Bacalar lagoon. The lagoon is a minute away on foot, downtown Bacalar about ten minutes by car and Chetumal about twenty.
What time are check-in and check-out?
Check-in from 3:00 pm and check-out at 11:00 am. If you need to arrive earlier or leave later, message us on WhatsApp and we will see what is possible depending on that day's bookings.
How much is a night at Casa Pantoja?
Prices run from MX$968 to MX$1,936 a night depending on the space, taxes already included. There are 7 types of space: cabins, rooms and apartments. The cheapest is a cabin for two and the largest an apartment for five. Booking several spaces brings the nightly price down.
Do the prices include taxes?
Yes. The price you see on each space already includes VAT (16%) and the lodging tax (5%): it is what you will pay. When you quote your dates we show the full breakdown, with the subtotal and each tax separately, before you confirm anything.
How do I pay, and do you take cards?
You can hold your dates with a 30% deposit and pay the balance on arrival, or message us on WhatsApp and arrange payment with us. We ask for official ID at check-in.
Do you have free cancellation?
Yes, as long as you let us know in good time. The window we work with today is 15 days before arrival, and we confirm it in writing on WhatsApp when you hold your dates, before you pay anything. The full terms are on the Booking policies page.
Can I book the whole property, or several spaces for a group?
Yes. There are 9 units on one property and together they sleep up to 29 people. Enter how many of you there are and we propose the cheapest combination of spaces that fits. Booking 3 spaces or more applies a 15% discount on the lodging, before taxes. The whole property has a flat rate of MX$11,677 a night, taxes included.
Can I have visitors?
No. Only the guests registered on the booking may enter. This is for the peace and safety of everyone staying.
Is there a minimum number of nights?
2 nights, for any space. Over long weekends and in high season there may be a longer minimum; if so, the quote will tell you when you pick your dates.
Is there free parking?
Yes, there is parking inside the property at no extra cost.
Is Casa Pantoja on the lagoon?
Casa Pantoja has no direct access to the lagoon. The lagoon is approximately a one-minute walk away; two bathing facilities charge admission. Admission is not included in your stay. Check their prices and opening hours before visiting.
Are pets allowed?
Message us on WhatsApp before booking and we will confirm depending on the space and the dates.
How do I get to Xul-Há from Chetumal, Bacalar or Cancún?
From Chetumal it is about 20 minutes north on federal highway 307; from downtown Bacalar, about 10 minutes south; from Cancún, about four and a half hours on the same 307. The nearest airport is Chetumal (CTM), about 25 minutes away. There are also shared vans between Chetumal and Bacalar that stop in Xul-Há.
Do the rooms have air conditioning?
Yes, all but one. The four rooms, Tucán, both apartments and Cabin 1 have air conditioning. Cabin 2 is upstairs and has a fan only; we say so on its page because in this climate it is something worth knowing before you book, not on arrival.
