Xul-Há: a base for exploring the lagoon

A stay in Xul-Há starts with choosing how to reach the water and get around the area.

Xul-Há is another base for planning a trip to the Bacalar area. Before choosing accommodation, check water access, the services you need and your transport arrangements.

Two connected lagoons

Xul-Há and Bacalar are bodies of water connected by the Los Rápidos channel, identified in APIQROO’s operating rules. Do not assume every access point offers the same experience.

Plan your water access

Check the entrance, admission price and opening hours before leaving. Casa Pantoja has no direct lagoon access: the water is approximately a one-minute walk away, with two bathing facilities charging admission that is not included in your stay.

A day at your own pace

Allow time for the lagoon and for exploring Bacalar. Check routes from your actual starting point and arrange the return journey too; journey times and transport frequencies need confirmation.

Caring for the place

The Bacalar Ecology Department’s guide asks visitors to avoid contact with stromatolites and respect protected areas. Follow instructions at the access point you visit and take your litter away.

Choosing where to sleep

Compare location, layout and services for your group. See Casa Pantoja’s accommodation for photos and capacities. Visitor numbers, noise and water conditions vary; silence and empty shores are not guaranteed.
