When to visit Bacalar: choosing your dates
Beyond a perfect month: a forecast close to departure, flexible plans and clear booking terms.
· updated
No month guarantees sunshine every day or a lagoon without visitors. Choose dates that work for your group and leave room to adjust your plans.
Weather and hurricane season
The official Atlantic hurricane season runs from 1 June to 30 November, according to the National Hurricane Center. This is a reference period, not a forecast for your stay.
Check forecasts and alerts close to departure. Rain and wind can change activity plans; follow instructions from authorities and operators.
Comparing dates
Check availability and request a quote for your specific dates. Compare the total stay, cancellation terms and transport. Do not assume a particular month will always be cheaper or less crowded.
Leave room to change plans
Avoid scheduling every water activity on one day. Ask each operator about rescheduling and what happens if they suspend the service. Have an indoor alternative for your group.
Before booking
Casa Pantoja requires a minimum stay of two nights. The lagoon is approximately a one-minute walk away, with no direct access from the property; the two nearby bathing facilities charge admission not included in your stay. Read the booking policies before confirming.
